Spectrum - Sensor and actuator diagnostics
The Spectrum device allows you to test automotive components and verify
their actual operation without using standard self-diagnostics.
Spectrum, the new digital electronic tester for functional testing of
automotive sensors and electromechanical components, is the result of
Microtronics' many years of experience in automotive engineering.
Where self-diagnosis ends, it is essential to trace the root cause of
the problem that generated the error code: thanks to Spectrum, the analysis of
continuous and impulsive (PWM) signals is much simpler than with a traditional
oscilloscope. Spectrum allows you to control electronic or electromechanical
components directly from the original connector and thus immediately verify
their functionality.
TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS
- DC and PWM multimeter: max and min voltages from 0.0 to 100.0V; frequency from 0 to 20KHz; duty cycle from 1 to 99%
- DC generator: from 0.0 to 12.0Vdc; internal resistance=250ohm
- Variable resistance emulation: 220 ohms-25 kohms with steps of approximately 200 ohms.
- Glow plug test: adjustable nominal voltage from 3.3 to 12V; max current 20A; adjustable ignition time from 5 to 20 seconds; real-time display of current consumption or filament resistance.
- PWM signal: signal amplitude from 0 to 12V; frequency from 1Hz to 15KHz; duty cycle from 1 to 99%
- PWM power with negative PWM activation: battery voltage (12V nom.); frequency from 1Hz to 1000Hz; duty cycle from 1 to 99%; max current 10A
- Electromechanical injector activation: with negative activation, variable frequency and injection time depending on the type of fuel (petrol, diesel, gas).
- Piezoelectric injector activation: nominal voltage up to 120V and variable frequency.
- Electromagnetic sensor: inductive detection of pulses/sec on power drives
- Engine mass test: display of detected voltage and test result
AVAILABLE FUNCTIONS AND WIRING
ELECTROMECHANICAL ACTUATOR ACTIVATION: EGR valves, throttle bodies, pressure regulators, HPV valves, IMV valves, pneumatic actuators, etc. with duty cycle and operating frequency selection.
INJECTOR ACTIVATION: petrol, LPG and CNG, coil and piezoelectric diesel, all with the possibility of varying the operating frequency and injection time.
DIESEL GLOW PLUG TEST: functional test and measurement of the dynamic resistance of glow plugs of all nominal voltages, even without removal from the engine.
INDUCTIVE PICK-UP: verification of the operation of power components via an electromagnetic sensor without electrical contact, with real-time pulse detection.
MULTIMETER FOR DC VOLTAGE AND PWM SIGNALS: measurement of maximum and minimum voltages, frequency and duty cycle of the input signal. Includes the function of detecting the minimum battery voltage during start-up.
ENGINE GROUND TEST: measurement of engine ground potential with automatic display of test results.
DC VOLTAGE GENERATOR: emulation of analogue sensor output with integrated electronics.
PWM SIGNAL GENERATOR: emulation of electronic sensors with PWM modulated output.
VARIABLE RESISTANCE EMULATOR: emulation of resistive sensor output.
